Tough course
I done the event last year and thought the markers weren’t great but this year it was much better. I think the organisation is great and runs a very smooth event.
Thanks Jake. Last year we were using red and white barrier tape to mark the course (along with black arrows on yellow signs along the road sections), but this year we upgraded to large event ribbons with a reflective strip at the bottom of each one. The ribbons were easy to carry out on course during set up, so I'm glad to hear that they were more visible for runners to spot during the race too.

Beautiful adventure in the countryside
Marshall’s were very happy to help with fuelling - such as refilling my bladder pack mid route - which I appreciated so much! There was a plentiful range of food and drinks and other helpful marshals at various points along the way! Absolutely stunning scenery and medical support helped me at the end - as I had a few minor wounds! Friendly event which I definitely recommend!
Firstly, well done on a brilliant race at the weekend! I hope your grazes are recovering well. We had a top notch volunteer team on Saturday, and I'm glad they were able to help you around the course. Thanks for such a lovely review! :)

Superb countryside event
Have done the 50km route twice (2025 and 2026).
Fabulous organisation by Race Harborough. A few considerations for people weighing up this option:
- Beautiful countryside scenery with fields, pasture, and canal to run through / around / along.
- Definitely hilly, and there are a large number of stiles that you have to climb over which interrupt your flow. If you're targeting a personal best then choose a different route. If you are not concerned about doing the fastest 50km you can find then crack on, you will love this course.
- There's a ~800 meter long tunnel you head through on the route at around 22km. It is pitch dark in there. You must bring a dedicated torch for this, however sunny the day is - I promise you, the torch on your mobile phone will DEFINITELY NOT COPE with you moving at any speed above a cautious walk. This is all clearly explained in the race pack, but I know not everyone reads it carefully!
Overall:
Sign up, you definitely won't regret it, unless you're determined to find the fastest 50km route you can.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely, genuine review. :) You wouldn't believe how many people come to me after the event every year amazed at how little they can see in the tunnel! Haha! Glad you enjoyed this year's event, and we'll hopefully see you back again in 2027!
