Fantastic event and extremely well organised. Mary and all the volunteers were very supportive. Great value for money too, brilliant for my first ultra!
Thanks for choosing the Foxton Hound as your first ultra! :) So glad you enjoyed it!
Super organisation, great course marking and really friendly volunteers. Highly recommend!
Northamptonshire is beautiful
Thank you for such a great review! :) Northamptonshire really is so beautiful and we are very lucky to have access to so many trails out this way. There really are so many stunning areas to explore!
Rachel Lewis
One of my favourite races!!
Everything from start to finish is great about this race.
It's extremely well organised, a lovely route, with a bunch of great volunteers throughout!
Huge thanks to everyone involved!
Thanks so much Rachel! Lovely to have you back again this year! :)
Chris Brockbank
Tough but rewarding
Having discussed this with other runners, honestly can't think of any improvements

Great experience as a first timer
Really excellent support - the volunteers were incredible people and very supportive - really enjoyed the event, it was challenging but do-able and a great 1st timers event to ultra running - highly recommend ⭐️
I'm so glad that you enjoyed your first ultra event. Hopefully the first of many to come! The volunteer team really were a top notch group and it's great that they ensured you felt supported all the way round. Hope to see you again!

A grand day out
Shout out to the checkpoint volunteers, so friendly and helpful, great spread of food and drink at every CP (even the last one that I thought would be just water!)
Also thanks to Neil (sweeper at back of 100k), he was good company jogging alongside and I felt in safe hands, at my request he kindly helped me switch to the 50k course at a checkpoint which I was grateful for.
After 39km I missed a left turn, ended up at Welford High st, followed that south then rejoined trail. I am sure that was just me not paying attention! Course marked really well throughout, thank you for spraying and tying with tape possible dangers as well as all the bramble-beating-back you must have done.
Overall organisation was fabulous - you should be properly proud, what an excellent event. Would do again, thank you for putting it on!
Thanks for leaving such a lovely review Alex! There was definitely a lot of bramble-beating-back throughout most of July and August! Haha! Prep work for FHU has very much taken over the start of my Summer, but it was absolutely worth it to see so many runners having such a great race day! Neill is very much part of the core Race Harborough Team and brilliant at making runners feel at ease. I'll be sure to pass on your words to him too. Hope to see you again!

Wonderful day with fantastic volunteer support.
Need vegetarian sweets at the aid station and some gluten free option
We did have some aid station items which were both vegetarian and gluten free, including crisps, a range of fruit and 'free from' flapjacks. But I'm more than happy to take on board any suggestions for other suitable products to include at aid stations going forward. Please drop me an email and we can discuss further.

Nice ultra, suitable for beginners and seasoned ultra runners
Small, independent race company that care about trail running, lovely volunteers. Need to be able to self navigate
Lovely to have you joining us again this year! Thanks for a lovely review. :)
Clare Randall
Lovely event
Jon Crane
Great route and organisation
The new signs are great, more visible from a distance
Red and white tape on the low branches, especially on the last bit of tow path was welcomed.
Great friendly helpful volunteers on the check points
Much appreciated finish line beer from Justin
Thanks Jon. Glad the new route markers worked well. It was fantastic to see you achieve your first 100k at the weekend! It's been brilliant watching your running journey over the last year and a bit and I am looking forward to seeing what you go on to do next!

Great for a first time Ultra!
Was my first ultra. A great event. Organisation was very good, the route was all runnable but felt suitably challenging.
I would highly recommend this event.
Thank you so much for such a glowing review! Well done on completing your first ultra. Hopefully you've caught the ultramarathon running bug now and will be back for more in the future!
Catherine Kingswood
Great event. Well organised, well signed and well stocked checkpoints.
Anne-Marie Matthews
Brilliant Event
Really well organised, good communication and race pack. The run was senic, has a bit of everything. Fields of sunflowers, hills both up and down but felt more up in the heat
So glad you enjoyed it! Perfect time of year for all the sunflowers! :) Hope the legs have recovered now.

Brilliant event!

Great race through the Northamptonshire countryside!
Really well organised event. All of the volunteers were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the day. The route was brilliant despite some of the hills but overall a really enjoyable day!
So glad you enjoyed running with us at the weekend! The volunteers really are top notch supporters and I couldn't have asked for a better team at the weekend. :)

What an introduction to Ultra running!
This was my first ultra and it delivered. This was a well organised event, with brilliant Marshalls and volunteers at the aid stations. An array of food on offer with water, coke (saviour) and electrolytes available. Met some wonderful runners en route. This was a very friendly race, I would highly recommend. Countryside just lovely, amazing views and a gorgeous medal at the end.
The first of many I'm sure! :) Glad you enjoyed the mid-race Coke! The runners and volunteers at the weekend really helped to give FHU such an incredible atmosphere this year. Well done on a brilliant race!

In summary ‘Bloody Brilliant’
Use a loudhailer for a race brief
So lovely to have you back with us again this year Glenn! :) Really annoyingly I forgot forgot all about the speaker when I was delivering the briefing. It was right next to me at the briefing point!
Henry Bird
Overwhelmingly positive
Really great event and atmosphere. My first attempt at an ultra having not done a marathon before. Unfortunately a DNF but the support and positivity has made me come away with a really great feeling of wanting to come back and try again after some more training. An outstanding team, loads of positivity and support the whole way round, and organised by a champion!
It sounds like there were a few of you this year - running an ultra before having first tackled a marathon! :) So glad you haven't been put off of ultra running despite your DNF and that you are already thinking about coming back to give it another go.
Ben Owen
Amazing event I would highly recommend to anyone looking to run an ultra
So glad you enjoyed it! :)

Unforgettable experience!!
A massive thankyou to you all from organisers to aid station crew and all the helpers en route cheering us on and helping us take the right turns.
This is my first Ultra ever and you all have made this experience unique and special. Massive thanks again.
One thing that made it even more special was the personal touch at the start line by wishing me a happy 40th birthday. That was incredible, thankyou.
I will for sure come back next year all being well and perhaps even attempt the 100k!
Thank you so much for choosing us for your first ultra experience! What a way to celebrate your 40th birthday! So glad you enjoyed it, and hopefully we'll see you back again next year too!
